In the summer of 2007 as part of the refurbishment works of the Corbett court shopping centre the existing façade of the building was removed and replaced by a new architect designed façade comprising granite with frameless glass windows at street level, render, parplex timber composite panels and glass at upper level on steel frame fixed to structural elevation,
These works were carried out by Duane Construction Ltd headed by Mr. Sean Duane. The complexities and constraints associated with the Job were considerable. The premises is located in the busiest shopping street in Galway with huge foot fall 24/7 in the busiest months of the year.
The practical issues he addressed included the centre being open for business seven days a week. Noise/dust no set down area, working nights/early mornings as required. Health and Safety issues were significant also.
The contract was completed ahead of time and on budget. The dedication and commitment shown by Mr. Sean Duane was exemplary. I have no hesitation in recommending Duane Construction Ltd for any building project for which they tender.
